The Miss Guyana Culture Queen Pageant has officially announced its eight finalists for the 2025 competition. The diverse group of contestants represents communities from across Guyana, reflecting the country’s multicultural heritage.
Meet the Contestants
The selection of contestants spans multiple geographic regions of Guyana, from coastal areas to interior communities. This distribution reflects the country’s diverse population makeup, often described as the Caribbean’s melting pot.
The contestants collectively represent Guyana’s various ethnic backgrounds, including Amerindian, African, Indian, European, Chinese, and mixed ancestries. This comprehensive representation aligns with the pageant’s focus on cultural celebration and heritage.
The Miss Guyana Culture Queen Pageant has seen notable success on the international stage in recent years. Under franchise holder Randy Madray, who took over in 2019, Guyanese contestants have achieved back-to-back victories at the Miss Caribbean Culture Queen Pageant in St. Kitts.
Shemina Peroune became the first Guyanese to win the regional title in 2023, with Shequana Holder following with another victory in 2024. The 2025 contestants now have the opportunity to pursue an unprecedented third consecutive win for Guyana.
The contestants will make their first public appearance at a sashing ceremony scheduled for May 4th at Scotty’s Smoke House. The ceremony will be part of “Brunch in Paradise,” a fashion show hosted by pageant franchise holder Randy Madray.
Following the sashing, the contestants will undergo training in cultural knowledge, public speaking, runway techniques, and talent preparation ahead of the final coronation expected in June 2025.
The winner of Miss Guyana Culture Queen 2025 will earn the right to represent the country at the Miss Caribbean Culture Queen Pageant later this year in St. Kitts.
