Last Friday I had the absolute pleasure of attending the most incredible 90s themed party, aptly named NOSTALGIA, hosted by Shamar Spooner and Shamer Hescott.
There are events I attend just because I’m covering with Potsalt Media and there are events I get excited about because I think I’d personally enjoy them.
When I saw Spooner release this flyer I immediately got excited! Firstly, he and Shamer have a demonstrated history in hosting events that are unique and filled with excitement. So I didn’t even question that this party was going to be good.
The party promised to transport us back to the decade of unforgettable fashion trends and the best music, and boy, did it deliver on its promise! With attendees dressed head-to-toe in 90s fashion and DJs spinning classic 90s hits, it was a whirlwind night of pure nostalgia and good vibes.
As I arrived at the venue, it was like stepping into a time capsule. The entrance was decked out with neon lights, 90s movie posters, and decor that brought back fond memories of my childhood. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement, and I couldn’t wait to see what the night had in store for us.
One of the first things that caught my eye was the incredible fashion game everyone brought to the party. It was like a fashion show from the 90s, with attendees donning the most iconic outfits of the decade. Denim overalls, flannel shirts tied around waists, platform shoes, crop tops, and scrunchies – you name it, they wore it with flair! It was a delightful sight to see how each person put their unique spin on the 90s fashion, and I couldn’t help but feel a wave of nostalgia wash over me as I admired their impeccable style.
The party really lived up to its hype and stuck with the promised concept with DJs spinning all the classic hits from the 90s. From TLC to Destiny’s Child, from Tupac Shakur to Biggie Smalls, coming down to the early 200s with Mr Easy and Chaka Demus. The playlist was a perfect blend of nostalgia and pure fun. I sang my heart out to every song I knew, some I haven’t heard in ages! The DJs truly captured the essence of the 90s music scene, and it was incredible to see how these timeless tunes brought everyone together in unison.
As the night drew to a close, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of gratitude for this incredible party. It was an evening of good vibes and a shared love for the decade that defined a generation. My generation
The event allowed us to relive cherished memories and create new ones, all while celebrating the fashion and music that made the 90s so iconic. Nostalgia truly proved that the 90s spirit lives on, and I’m already eagerly anticipating the next opportunity to step back into the time machine for another unforgettable journey!
