BADERATION left patrons begging for more

Alkaline, Jada Kingdom, Byron Messia and Mattick Queen delivered!

Dancehall icons, Alkaline, Jada Kingdom, Byron Messia and Guyana’s very own Mattick Queen delivered electrifying performances at the BADERATION concert that will forever be etched in the memory of those who attended.

The National Stadium was a visually stunning spectacle, enhanced by dynamic lighting effects and state-of-the-art sound engineering for this production. The pulsating beats, infectious energy, and sheer talent on display, created an atmosphere unlike any other, captivating the hearts of fans and reaffirming the dominance of dancehall music.

The highly-anticipated event commenced with a performance from local dancehall act, Mattick Queen.

She brought a refreshing energy to the stage, engaging the crowd and compelling them to join in. Her dynamic performance showcased her versatility as an artiste, effortlessly commanding the stage with her dance moves. The perfect opening act to set the tone for the night.

As the crowd swayed to her hits, the anticipation soared for the arrival of the main acts for the evening. DJ Gully Ras raised the anticipation even further with his selection of music, causing the crowd to be charged up for the next performer.

“Which gyal can seh she stress me out?” The ladies flocked the stage front, screaming as Jada Kingdom came on stage with the ” Which gyal” freestyle and delivered a performance no one can ever forget. With her mini skirt and thick thighs, Jada had the National Stadium in an uproar, successfully keeping the energy alive for the next act.

Entering with his hit song “Talibans”, Byron Messia had the whole crowd singing and jumping with their phones on record. He didn’t have to do much as everyone was screaming his lyrics word for word! The lyrical genius connected with them on a profound level as they sang along, creating an immersive and exhilarating experience.

By this time, the excitement was sky high. Alkaline was evidently who the people came for. He commanded the crowd just by walking on. Screams and lights filled the air for the vendetta boss as he sang hit after hit.

The concert not only celebrated the brilliance of dancehall music but also highlighted the profound cultural influence it continues to wield worldwide.

As the final notes of Alkaline echoed through the venue, it was clear that this dancehall show had left an indelible mark on all who bore witness to the spectacle. The artistes’ magnetic performances had elevated the concert experience to extraordinary heights, solidifying their positions as icons of the dancehall genre.

This concert will undoubtedly be remembered as a defining moment in HJ calendar of activities.

In the wake of this remarkable event, it is evident that the passion and energy of dancehall music will continue to flourish, transcending boundaries and uniting people from all walks of life.

And Guyana is recognising that! Minister of Culture, Youth & Sport, Charles Ramson announced earlier this year that a Dancehall Monarch will be added to Calendar for the Republic Anniversary next year. I’m excited to see our local dancehall talents get the opportunity to be showcased from this!

Capturing the essence of this extraordinary night, a photo album was curated on our Facebook page, showcasing the defining moments of the event. Check them out!
